Missed our radio shows?  We have!  What with our travels and another crash of Shouting Fire, we've had to go elsewhere to get our fix:  say hello to FCC Free Radio.  The product of disaffected Pirate Cat Radio broadcasters, FCC Free is shaping up to be a mighty good addition to the San Francisco radio dial (107.3 FM).  Not in San Francisco?  Not a problem -- tune into the internet stream.

Tonight from 8 to 10pm PST (11pm to 1am EST) we test the waters of FCC Free Radio with their first live remote broadcast -- TradeMark and Frilly will be on the mic with audio oddities and sonic strangeness.  Any requests?  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. P.S.: Missed it?  Listen to the archive!

YouTube

Dear TheECC,

Your video, Whipped Cream Mixes: Rebel Without A Pause, may have content that is owned or licensed by UMG (Universal Music Group).  [...]

Admittedly we're no strangers to seeing notices like the above, but it's no less aggravating.  At least we're getting a warning shot with this one... whether it's for the Herb Alpert or Public Enemy content, we don't know.  What does it mean?  Simply that your time to see our video (on YouTube, anyway) for our 15-year-old mashup-before-there-were-mashups may be running out:

And no matter when YouTube does, you can always download both Herb Alpert / Public Enemy mashups along with the entire 1994 Gunderphonic album from our website:

Thanks, Australia!

Down Under: Done!

Thank you, Australia -- it was great to see you dancing and partying with The Evolution Control Committee and our little Wheel Of Mashup show.  Our shows in Sydney and Cairns were both great times, as were the rest of the festivals our shows were part of.  We have many recordings, photos, and videos to sift through and share after our next travels -- until then, check out the Liquid Architecture blog for a very favorable review of our show there.  Here's hoping for a quick return and the chance to hit more cities across Australia!

Big thanks to the festival organizers: Shannon O'Neill and Jen Teo (Liquid Architecture Festival), and Nicholas Mills (On Edge Festival), and to Brent Clough (The Night Air, ABC), Jamie and Aspa (Mu Meson Archives and The Naked City), Hermann's Bar, and Mofo Gallery.

Hello from The Evolution Control Committee... in Sydney, Australia!

Big thanks to Shannon, Jen, and all those that made the Liquid Architecture festival in Sydney such a success.  The ECC rocked it with a great show at Hermann's Bar that shook Aussie asses mercilessly!  A great end to a great festival.

Below: a warning sign at the aquarium... and good advice in general

Next Stop: Cairns, for the On Edge festival.  Can't wait!

evolutionarily,
