Wobbly. Our guest for this week's Sound Of Plaid radio show is Wobbly (aka Jon Leidecker).

Wobbly has had a long music career as a musician equally adept at sampling versus non-sampling music.  Recent work has focused more on collaborations, including some with The ECC such as the Beatlerape Live show, and a new album on Illegal Art collaborating with People Like Us.  Wobbly is also a frequent DJ, flaunting a wikipedic knowledge of music at events often in galleries/museums.  One such museum asked him to go further, and the result is Variations, a five part (so far) series of one-hour podcasts exploring the history of sampling, collage, and the general concept of remixing.  Impress in both scope and detail, It is quite possibly the most in-depth series of its kind.

On this week's show, we talk to Wobbly about Variations and listen to some of the incredible and rare music from it.

Many chances to hear the show, and if you can't make the times below, you can hear it at The Sound Of Plaid Archives later in the week.

Big City OrchestraOur guest for this week's Sound Of Plaid radio show is Matthew Bate of Closer Productions in Australia!  He's a documentary filmmaker who's current project is "Shut Up Little Man: An Audio Misadventure", a title familiar to our regular listeners who've appreciated the recordings of Raymond & Peter.  Bate's previous work with Plexus Films includes "What The Future Sounded Like" featuring early electronic music from Tristram Cary, whose music we played on last week's show.

In honor of Matthew's visit we'll pull out a number of rare found sounds and home recordings, including The ECC's discovery of Mic-In-Track recordings during early Napster days, thrift-scored cassettes, and many more previously unheard bits!

Many chances to hear the show, and if you can't make the times below, you can hear it at The Sound Of Plaid Archives later in the week.
