Our first peep in a month -- wondering where we've been?  Burning Man mainly, and not just going for the party but also creating their main sound installation which was heard at the very foot of The Man. Now that the man has burned, we're back from the desert but keeping on the down low -- all the better to work on our next album, All Rights Reserved.

Our radio efforts don't stop, however.  In fact, they're more than ever:  you can now hear The ECC regularly on FCC Free Radio, San Francisco's newest community radio station at the end of the dial: 107.3 FM.  Not in San Francisco?  Not a problem: listen online via Winamp, Quicktime, or Windows Media Player.  But in case you are in San Francisco, we could use your help:

FCC Free Radio is just starting out, but this is a serious effort: a full studio is up and running -- mixing board, microphones, listener call-in phone line, the whole deal.  Add the rent cost (San Francisco rent cost, ugh) and the studio is pretty pricey, especially for a struggling new radio station.

Luckily, you can help... AND get drunk at the same time!

Tonight (09/11/09) Tonic Bar is hosting a fundraiser for FCC Free Radio ChatHave a drink, support community radio -- how hard is that? Drop in from 5pm to 10pm to 2360 Polk (at Union) as FCC Free Radio broadcasts live from one of the “Top Six Bars Of San Francisco” (InStyle Magazine).  No admission -- just the cost of drinks!

See you there!

Missed our radio shows?  We have!  What with our travels and another crash of Shouting Fire, we've had to go elsewhere to get our fix:  say hello to FCC Free Radio.  The product of disaffected Pirate Cat Radio broadcasters, FCC Free is shaping up to be a mighty good addition to the San Francisco radio dial (107.3 FM).  Not in San Francisco?  Not a problem -- tune into the internet stream.

Tonight from 8 to 10pm PST (11pm to 1am EST) we test the waters of FCC Free Radio with their first live remote broadcast -- TradeMark and Frilly will be on the mic with audio oddities and sonic strangeness.  Any requests?  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. YouTube

Dear TheECC,

Your video, Whipped Cream Mixes: Rebel Without A Pause, may have content that is owned or licensed by UMG (Universal Music Group).  [...]

Admittedly we're no strangers to seeing notices like the above, but it's no less aggravating.  At least we're getting a warning shot with this one... whether it's for the Herb Alpert or Public Enemy content, we don't know.  What does it mean?  Simply that your time to see our video (on YouTube, anyway) for our 15-year-old mashup-before-there-were-mashups may be running out:

And no matter when YouTube does, you can always download both Herb Alpert / Public Enemy mashups along with the entire 1994 Gunderphonic album from our website:
