The Sound Of Plaid radio shows for 12.01 and 12.10
Saturday, 12 December 2009 23:34
Technical problems at the FCC Free Radio studio prevented us from doing our usual live Tuesday episode of our weekly internet radio show The Sound Of Plaid, so the next day we prerecorded an episode to air 12/10/09 exclusively for listeners of DFM Radio International and Shouting Fire. On Monday of that week we finished the mastering for all but one of the songs from our upcoming album All Rights Reserved, so we played a number of those and beamed like proud mothers. Add a bit of 70's radio soul (Stevie Wonder, Patti Labelle, etc.) and some 80's cuts and you've got a two hour block of fun! Listen below or download for later.
And we never got around to posting the Sound Of Plaid show from the previous week, which also includes new ECC tracks. Listen below or download for later.

In this episode: Badvertising. Hour One: After an eerie start with the Sound Of Steelmaking on a plate of Ligeti, we glitch out with Ludachrist's epileptically impressive mix Bangfest. Hour Two: 80's dance party! What else one-hit wonders have to offer. Hosted by TradeMark and Frilly. Listen below or download for later:
Could you tell... almost the whole studio had just been reassembled from my residency, and got disassembled and taken away right after? A studio mirage...

Hosted by TradeMark and Frilly. Listen below or download for later:
Could you tell... that we almost didn't start the show on time?

On October 28th The ECC's TradeMark G. participated in another UbRadio Salon. October 28th happens to be National Chocolate Day... as well as the birthday of the poison DDT. To honor this ying/yang day we made the theme of this episode: Deadly Chocolate. You can download/listen to the archives below, and you can also download/listen to them at the Internet Archives.
The Sound Of Plaid radio show for 2009.10.27
Wednesday, 28 October 2009 09:21
In this episode: Hallowe'en & White Guy Covers. Hour One provides some spooky disco and other eerie melodies, such as Soul Dracula, Poe For Moderns, and the rants of Francis E. Dec, Esq. Hour Two is filled with White Folks Covering Songs They Probably Shouldn't Cover, many from Andrew Denton's Musical Challenge compilation, plus Public Enemy's "911 Is A Joke" done bluegrass, "Straight Outta Compton" done sensitive singer/songwriter, and "I Touch Myself" done Innuit throat singing style. Plus a peak at an ECC experiment, "What Would You Do If I Sang Autotune". Hosted by TradeMark and Fake Frilly. Listen below or download for later:
Could you tell... that Fake Frilly wasn't the Real Frilly?
