We've been anxiously anticipating this show for a while, and this week it finally comes to The Sound Of Plaid. Far from just a show about the cosmetics mogul, the Scary Mary Kay Show will focus on music by women. There was so much of it we couldn't quite pack it in -- meaning Scary Mary Kay Part 2 will no doubt be a future episode.

On the most recent episode of The Sound Of Plaid (2012.03.22) we decided to celebrate an unseasonably warm and sunny day with the leisurely sounds of Lounge and Exotica, followed by a solid hour of Soul and Funk. Fun! During that second part of the show, DFM's jt requested that the funk needed to get a bit funked up, preferably in a glitchy, irregular way.

It's surprising that The Evolution Control Committee hasn't played any events connected with the Church Of The Subgenius since 1991, considering the overlap between the two audiences. Luckily 2011 was the year to fix that at the Subgenius X-Day 14 over July 4th weekend. Why did we wait so long? Subgenius style is a total match for The ECC, and our show went over incredibly well. Well enough that Subgenius super-genius Rev. Ivan Stang played a good chunk of the show on episode 1324 of Hour Of Slack. Well enough that it inspired others to request the whole thing from us.
