Okay, we've loaded up our schedule with a number of ECC activities right before Thanksgiving... each event different from another...

Sat Nov.15: I'll Be Your Mirror (Ohio)
Thursday, 16 October 2008 20:10
On Saturday November 15, The Evolution Control Committee performs at the Velvet Underground-themed show "I'll Be Your Mirror", along with the Cheater Slicks and many others...
...Velvet Underground?
Of course -- since there's a massive Andy Warhol exhibit going on at the Wexner Center for the Arts, who supports this show organized by Mary Jo Bole. This will be a very unique ECC performance -- don't miss it! (after all, when are we going to have the chance to play a bunch of Velvet Underground mashups again?)
Upcoming Shows
Saturday, 27 September 2008 18:08
We're hard at work upgrading the Wheel of Mashup for two upcoming shows:
- The Outback Music Festival (Oct. 3, 4, & 5) at Summer Lake Hot Springs near Bend, Oregon ("near" is actually over an hour away). The ECC performs Saturday night (Oct 4) at midnight.
- Heat the Street Faire, aka Burning Man Decompression (Oct. 12) in San Francisco. Still awaiting performance time and details.
The Wheel Of Mashup is expanding -- now there's EIGHT choices of music to land on, and EIGHT choices of vocals on the other wheel -- that's 64 different mashups possible! We're also going to debut a very cool rear-projected kinda touch-screen controller thingee done with a video projecter and a Wii controller. Very sexy tech here.
ECC at HOPE NYC
Wednesday, 09 July 2008 17:19
The ECC's TradeMark G. joins as a last-minute addition to a great panel talk on Culture Jamming at the Last HOPE (Hackers On Planet Earth) conference in New York City on Sunday 07/20/08. This should be a great talk, as well as a great conference.
The Intersection of Culture Jamming, Hacking, and Hacktivism
Pan, Phineas Narco, Tim Maloney, %20, Fred Church, Steev Hise, Ricardo Dominguez, Bernardo Attias, Mark Hosler, TradeMark G. (Evolution Control Committee)
Over the past nearly 20 years, the Internet has proved to be fertile ground for projects that raise awareness, question authority, and inspire social cohesion. Culture jamming, hacking, and hacktivism have helped provoke changes in the technical, cultural, and political aspects of our society. This panel aims to provide an overview of these techniques through examples of some of the more memorable projects. Starting with the manipulation of voicemail services and leading up to denial of service attacks on government web servers, the panel will cover how these projects were organized and executed as well as the reaction that they inspired. This 90 minute panel will also include a discussion section (with audience participation encouraged) where they will contemplate what use these techniques have in light of the quickly changing Internet and digital media landscapes.
Sunday 1100 - Hopper
