Jesus Carp with Chromelodeon on KXLU (Jan 2005)

Back in 2005 The ECC went on tour with Chromelodeon, a 7-piece band from Philadelphia who mostly performed covers of video game music.  Dino Lionetti arranged and wrote much of their music, and he had the bright idea to have the band cover an ECC tune during their set.  The song?  Jesus Carp (Son Of Cod), a fun ditty about a messianic fish from the ECC's 1994 album Double The Phat and Still Tasteless (and also released on a wax cylinder, believe it or not).  That album was from back in the day when The ECC wrote actual songs, with lyrics and everything, so The ECC's TradeMark G. could jump on stage with Chromelodeon as a guest vocalist for that one song.

It was a nice compliment for us, and great to hear our music coming out of another band.  The only bad part -- we never got a recording of the collaboration!

Until now, that is.  On the tour the band stopped at KXLU in Los Angeles and recorded a live in-studio performance.  Jesus Carp was part of that set, and just recently a recording of it turned up.  And so now, six years later, we are proud to present:

There's also a video of the song from that tour's Denver show, although it's too dark to see anything:

The ECC carves out 60 seconds on a compilation of one-minute-music with our ringtone version of "Potent 2005":

International Email Audio Art Project Volume 2

The Homemade Music Movement has grown from the roots of the Mail Art Movement, and in order to pay due respect and acknowledge these origins, I propose an international EMAIL audio art project in which contributors will send to me a one-minute miniature audio work in mp3 format (plus visual works if desired) attached to an email. These works will be published together in volumes online.

Open Studios/Studio Otwarte flyerAs part of the artists-in-residence program at the Centrum Sztuki Wspólczesnej (aka the Center for Contemporary Art) in Ujazdowski Castle, The ECC participated in the Open Studios/Studio Otwarte event on November 28, 2010.  We conducted interviews with other artists working here in a myriad of different mediums from sound to film to dance, and also interviewed the staff of the AIR program.

And then we remixed them.
And then created a radio station to play them.

The result was the ECC RadioLab, a 3-hour experiment in radio and remixing heard on 30+ radios throughout the event space and on 3 internet radio stations.  Eleven short remixes totaling 24+ minutes interspersed ECC music both prerecorded and live, as well as live commentary about the event.  The eleven segments can be heard below, as well as a 24-minute excerpt of the live broadcast, and even the whole 3-hour broadcast in its entirety.  The segments and excerpt recording were also played on the December 2nd, 2010 episode of The Sound Of Plaid.
