Ping Pong Percussion was a subgenre of late-50's/early-60's albums when stereo was new and percussion was exotic in the white-bread American household.  This track distills the introductions from all songs on all the albums I have of those, reduced to one sound per stereo side for maximum aural whiplash.  Made circa 1992, never released.

"Digital? DIG-IT-ALL!"On July 28th, 2010 The ECC was a guest on Big City Orchestra's UbRadio Salon radio show once again.  The peculiar theme of episode #133: "Digital? DIG-IT-ALL!"

The ECC interpreted that with live cut-n-pasting using various songs with "Dig" in the title or lyrics, with occasionally warm sine waves from a vintage tone generator.  dAS also surfed the sine wave with his own tone gens, plus contact mic'd turntable and recorded sound effects of... digging.  And Ninah glued everything together with a background of drones and chords.

2010 Pop ConferenceEarlier this year The ECC joined Bernardo Attias and Fred Church in Seattle for the 2010 Pop Conference to present "Plagiarhythm Nation: The New "Menace of Mechanical Music".  Instead of using the tried-and-tired panel talk format, we risked doing something new: A discussion of remix culture, which got remixed live.

It went fairly well and although we edited together the live recording a while ago, we forgot to post it!  So without further delay, I present to you the recording of our talk about remixing, remixed by TradeMark G. with the VidiMasher 3000.

John Hell, photo by Scott Beale / Laughing SquidTradeMark and Frilly welcome guest John Hell, a staple of the San Francisco radio dial since 1988.  Together, we celebrate the birthday of William Shatner with cuts from his albums "The Transformed Man" and "Has Been", and follow it up with some Leonard Nimoy for balanace.  We also rub Ronald Reagan's nose in the American "socialized medicine" he railed against, which was signed into law earlier the day of our show.

Our apologies for the bad sound quality in this show; our studio recording failed so we had to grab the live feed stream, which is heavily compressed and equalized.  Sorry!
